Spiritual Formation of the individual believer is a priority at First Baptist Church. We believe it is important thateach follower of Jesus engage in both individual and corporate study in order to learn what the scriptures say to us about our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to develop spiritual disciplines that assist each person in living the Christian life.
Sunday School
The Sunday School at First Baptist Church provides a solid foundation for our efforts to grow as Christians. The Sunday School is primarily a time of Bible study and fellowship. The Sunday School is age-graded for the children and youth. The adult division provides more flexibility to choose where one feels most comfortable. Sunday School meets at 9:45 on Sundays.
NURSERY
We maintain two nurseries. One nursery is for babies and the other is for toddlers up to 2 years of age. Location: Enter middle door on 10th Street. Nursery is third door on right
CHILDREN
Preschool A: Preschool A is for children age 2-3.
Preschool B: Preschool B is for children ages 4-5. This class is located on the first floor of the educational building across from the library.
Bibles Learners: Bible Learners is for children in the 1st and 2nd grades. This is located on the first floor of the educational building on the same side as the library.
Bible Searchers: Bible Searchers is for children in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. This class is located on the second floor across from the choir room.
YOUTH
Middle School: The Middle School class is for our 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The class is located on the second floor of the educational building.
High School: The High School class is for youth in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. The class is located on the second floor of the education building.
ADULT
Young Adult Class: This class is for college students, singles and young married couples. This class meets in the Activities Building.
Adult A Class: This class meet in the church parlor/office and engages in a variety of studies from books of the Bible to discussions on how to apply timeless Biblical truths to current events.
Adult B Class: This class is located on the 2nd floor of the Educational Building. This class uses an interactive approach to Bible study with emphasis on the Christian's ethical responsibilities in light of what the scripture teaches. It uses literature from Smyth and Helwys.
Bible Study Class: This class meets in the library and is presently studying Beth Moore's, The Patriarchs.
Pastor's Class: This class meets on the second floor of the Activities Building. It is studying the Gospel of John.
Mixed Class: This class is located in the large classroom off the Fellowship Hall. There is an opening assembly with a hymn, sharing of prayer concerns and a brief devotional. The class studies the Bible with an emphasis on how to apply it to living in today's world. The class uses literature from Lifeway.
Tuesday Morning Bible Study
Ladies and Men meet onTuesday mornings at 10 a.m. for prayer and Bible study. The class is open to all who desire to participate.
