April 2 - Join us for a presentation on navigating the challenges of aging. Learn important insights about aging, how to care for an aging parent, and tips for organizing financial and insurance paperwork. We’ll also cover managing dementia and addressing physically declining health, providing you with the knowledge and tools to support your loved ones through this stage of life. Presented by Bonnie Finch, social worker for Autumn Care of Altavista.
April 9 - A representative from Centra Health's Palliative Care and Hospice team will describe the differences between the two levels of care. Both are designed to provide the best possible quality of life for both the patient and their families.
April 16 - This presentation will cover essential legal tools like wills, powers of attorney, and Advance Medical Directives. Learn who needs these documents, the risks of not having them, and the process of getting them drafted. We’ll also discuss online will options, costs, and how to ensure your wishes are followed if you or a loved one needs decision-making help. Presented by David W. Shreve, Attorney at Law.
April 23 - Planning for the future brings peace of mind—not only for you but for your loved ones as well. Join us for an informative seminar on the benefits of pre-need funeral planning, presented by Trey Finch of Finch & Finch Funeral Home and James Ruggerio of Lakeland Pre-need Planning.
April 30 - Adjusting to loss is a challenge for each of us. We will explore ways to help deal with our own losses, including the death of a loved one. We will also learn how to help others with their own losses. Presented by Alice Bond, RN, facilitator of GriefShare, a support group for those experiencing the loss by death of a loved one.
